80th birthday star card

Just as well I was on holiday last week as I had a last minute commission for a star card for an 80th birthday. Anyone who has made one of these cards will know that it's not a quick card to make. I think it took me about 4 hours, but a lot of that would have been time walking between my craft room and the kitchen. The work surface in my craft room is so cluttered there's not enough room to work there so I used the breakfast bar.

Sundays with Santa - Week 6

I'm on a roll here, third card of the day, only another 2 more to catch up! The theme for week 6 is birds, so thought I would use this cute penguin stamp, from Inkadinkadoo, coloured with copics. Paper is from the Wonderful Winter paper stack from My Minds Eye, another oldie.
That's it from me for today, time for a quick tidy up and then off to bed.

Sundays with Santa - Week 5

Playing catch up here with the above challenge, 3 weeks behind now! The theme for week 5 is non-traditional colours. I'm not normally a pink girl but I loved the papers in this pad, 'Rose Tinted Christmas' from DCWV. It's an old paperstack as I am on a STASH DIET - my crafts are taking over the house so I need to use what I have before I buy any more..... Lets see how long that lasts!!
The snowflake was cut on my Cricut with the Accent Essentials cartridge. SU punches for the tag and good old peel offs for the greeting.

Am off for a walk now, won't be long as its freezing down here on the South coast, but I need to get some fresh air before I get cabin fever and it also means I can have a toasted hot cross bun with lashings of butter when i get back and feel less guilty. I will also have to thaw out in my craft room so hope to be back with another card later.

Sundays with Santa - Week 4

Okay so we're 8 weeks into this years challenge and I'm already 4 weeks behind - eek better get my skates on! I have been busy with my sewing the last few weekends and not got round to making my cards but have made a couple of star cards over the last couple of days and thought while I was in my craft room I should make some attempt to catch up!
The theme for week 4 is Santa, the image has been on my desk for a couple of weeks coloured up waiting to be put on a card. It is an image from Creative Expressions which I have had for as long as I can remember but he is an old faithful who makes an appearance every Christmas. The good old CB snowflake embossing folder came out to play too.

UFO Sunday

I had hoped to have got a bit further along with my project today :( I have had terrible trouble with some thread I bought, resulting in more unpicking than I care for! Anyway after a change of thread I am making progress albeit slower than I would have liked so its a WIP Sunday for me today. I'm on half term holiday this week so hoping to get lots of crafting done :)

UFO Sunday

My UFO for today, just noticed the time, I mean yesterday is another pair of socks. I just love knitting with this self patterning yarn. I already have orange socks in this yarn, reckon I am going to have to hunt out the other colours of the rainbow then I can have hand knitted socks for every day of the week!

Anyhow, gotta make it short and sweet, off to get some z's in now, nite all......

Golden Wedding Anniversary medallion card

What a miserable day, so I was more than happy to hide away in my craft room and create! This card has been commissioned by a friend of mine whose parents celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary next week. It's ages since I did any stamping let alone any medallion stamping and I really enjoyed making this card. I ended up clearing out a cupboard while out there as I couldn't find my anti static pad so all in all a productive day!

Quilted mat for my sewing machine

While tidying up my fabric stash recently I found some offcuts that had been flung aside as I had cut them the wrong size - note to self, double check measuring before cutting! Never mind all was not lost as I made a mat for my sewing machine to sit on, so now it's much easier when I want to shove my sewing machine aside, usually when I wasn't to lay the table for dinner......

Loving these raggy cushions

Here's another raggy cushion, loving this style, they go together fairly quickly. When I saw this fabric, I just had to have it, which quite surprised me as I'm not normally a pink girl. The only problem I have now is where to put it, may have to redecorate a room for it to go in!!

UFO Sunday

Here's my UFO for this week, the other cushion that started my patchwork and quilting addiction. Why not take a look at

to see what other people are finishing off.

I have started another raggy cushion today and hope to be able to post a photo later - depends now late I decide to stay up!

Not much crafting today.....

What a beautiful day it's been today, we decided to make the most of the sun while it was out so took a long walk along the beach. I haven't moved far from the sofa since we got back apart from tidying up my sewing corner, although it looks worse now than when I started! The boys are off to football tomorrow so I shall be mostly sewing :)

I bought a great book last year from Spellbound Beads which has lots of beautiful Xmas decorations and earring patterns inside. Here's just one of the designs, watch out for a few more....
