Another star card.....

Hi, sorry not been about much this week, been quite busy with it being half term, can't believe it's over already!
I was asked to make a 21st birthday card this week for a friend's daughter who will be 21 this weekend. I showed her the card I made for Ellie's 18th and she liked that, so I had to get a wiggle on! I didn't realise just how long Ellie's card had taken me to make, as it was a labour of love! I was more conscious of the time making this one, it took me over 4 hours to make the card and box......Anyway she was really pleased with it, and here are the pics of it below, in reverse order again, really must get the hang of this when adding so many pictures.....

I have also made some thank you cards for Ellie and Adam to send, but in my haste to get them written and sent, I didn't take a photo of them. I was really pleased with them, so will make a couple more to go in my box, so will post a picture of them later.

Busy weekend - 2 birthdays and 3 teenagers!!

Where did the last week go? Thank goodness it is half term this week, really need a break from work and some time to chill with some me time and some crafting!! Before that though I had 2 birthdays to arrange, my youngest son was 13 today and my daughter was 18 on Saturday, so things a bit hectic round here and I now have to live with 3 teenagers - HELP!!

My son is an avid footie fan, he supports Man Utd, so making cards for him is never a problem, just so long as it has a football theme. I was wracking my brains as to what sort of card to make him when I saw a demo for glitter board on Ideal World over the weekend, which reminded me I had some football glitter card somewhere in my craft room! I managed to unearth this and the pictures above and below show what I came up with.

I have been meaning to make a star card for a while now, so thought I would make one for Elle's 18th. The photos uploaded in a reverse order so they are working from back to front of the card. The picture below shows the card when it is opened up, I have used 5 sections, as I was short of time but have lots of ideas buzzing round in my head for the next one I make - gonna try a 7 piece one.

I stamped the coloured inner cards and back and front covers with a versamark pad and a flower stamp from Banana Frog to give a watermark effect. The congrats was cut using Beyond Birthdays cricut cartridge.

The images on these pages were stamped with Hanna Stamps and coloured with anything pink medium I could lay my hands on!

The heart on this page was cut with George & Basic Shapes cartridge, Happy Birthday sentiment cut with Beyond Birthdays cartridge. Elle and 18 from Making Memories glitter stickers and brad from Papermania. Ribbon tags added between the fourth and fifth page.

These pages were watermark stamped with the flower bloom and left blank to add photos of Elle on the day she was born and one of her 18th birthday.

Stars from stash added to one page and greeting (found on internet, sorry can't remember website) and printed onto vellum. Attached to card using Papermania brads.

The images on this page were Hero Arts Cup cakes stamps, which were coloured with a variety of mediums.

The circle and numbers on front page cut using George & Basic Shapes cartridge. The 18 was cut on a double sided adhesive to which I added pink glitter.

The boys are off to Gunwharf tomorrow to the pictures, so hoping to get some quiet time and the house back straight - ha ha!!

Friday Sketchers challenge

Here is my entry for this week's Friday Sketchers challenge.
I used Dressing Up Maggie from Funky Kits, coloured the image with watercolour pencils, highlighted some areas with Jelly roll pens and used Ivory Flower Soft on her boa, which I think looks very effective, although its not too clear unless you take a closer look. Cardstock and papers from stash, brads and flowers from Papermania.

Stamp Something sketch challenge

Here is the my entry for this weeks challenge over at Stamp Something which is a sketch by Katharina, the fabby prize up for grabs is a gorgeous stamp from Katharina's online shop Whiff of Joy.
The stamp is from Funky Kits, coloured with watercolour pencils, not too happy with the finished result, it was quite late when I finished this, don't remember it looking this patchy then! This was my second attempt, the first I tried colouring with Promarkers and the ink from the stamping bled into the colouring - what ink pads should I use with Promarkers, anyone out there know? I would appreciate your help, am trying to resist the urge to buy copics as they are so expensive but my birthday is coming up soon - have to drop some not so subtle hints!!
How does everyone colour the cheeks so they have a healthy glow, when I try to do it they end up looking like they have 'slapped cheek' LOL.
Papers from a Dovecraft pack, ribbon and star embellishment from Poppicrafts.

At last, another challenge and some beading

Where did that week go? My feet didn't touch the ground and so didn't get much crafting done, but what I did manage went wrong!!

Here is my entry for the challenge this week on PTW which is based on one of Katharina's fab sketches, I just love working with these! Thought I would use the opportunity to make another Christmas card, seeing as its only 10 weeks away, so I'm told!
Image is from Funstamps, coloured with Sakura Jelly Roll pens, I found my silver glittery one -yaaay I am sooo happy. BP, text embellishment and brads from Dovecraft, rest from stash. Just couldn't resist adding the crystal effect tinsel around the top - well got to start getting in the Christmas spirit LOL...

I did manage to fit in a bit of beading this week, above is an Xmas bauble I beading recently, going to make some more of these, but have a play with the pattern. I had nearly finished a necklace a friend ordered, just finishing the last row when the thread in the core row must have snapped! Ever feel that someone's got it in for you? I was very good and didn't lose my temper but spent the next hour cutting it up and sorting out the different coloured beads GRRRRR!!!! Must make a start on the replacement!

I finished knitting a waistcoat recently, I'd couldn't decide what size to knit but opted for the medium. Since starting it tho, I have been to WW and lost 2 stone so should have gone for the small. When I tried it on my daughter commented that it made me look like I had put my weight back on - needless to say it has been unpicked and I need to start that again also!

Here's hoping for a better week!

2 challenges in 2 days!!! + 2 challenges in 1 card

Here is the card I made last night for Fridays Sketchers this week.
This is attempt no ??? can't remember how many went in the bin! Apart from colouring in the image, I enjoyed making this card. I couldn't find the right pink, then I couldn't find my glittery sakura pen, still not found it, suppose a tidy up may unearth it...

Just realised, while bloghopping that this card fits the challenge over a Dutch Dare this week which is to make a Christmas card.

Image is Maggie the Christmas Fairy, from Funky Kits - coloured with Pro Markers and Marvys. Wings glittered with Glamour Dust.
BP is DCVW Christmas Multistack. Pearlescent card from The Range, embossed with CB snowflakes folder. Other card from stash, mainly from The Paper Mill.

Hoping to get another card or two made this evening - and ought to tidy up my craft room - who knows what I will find.... I may not have made many cards lately but have still been buying goodies, which don't seem to have found a home yet!

My 1st challenge for ages - CCT

Here is my entry for the CCT challenge 31 which is
'This week we would like to see some buttons and bows on your cards.'
I used 'Emmy with Basket' stamp from Cuddly Buddly, coloured with watercolour pencils. I added small buttons, topped off with stickles, to the dress and the middle of the bow on her hat. Image mounted onto CS from stash, embossed using Floral Fantasy embossing CB folder, then onto K & Co paper. Ribbon from stash to fill in the space on the left side of the card.

Found my mojo!!

Sorry for the long absence, lost my mojo and had a few issues to deal with, but hoping to be back up to speed now.....
Here is a card I made for a friend who reached her 'bus pass' birthday recently.

She is a lovely lady, who loves to party. The stamp is one of a set 'God Created Man Before Woman' I bought from Craft Fairy at Newbury earlier this year. I really must use some of the other images. BP from a DCWV block, numbers cut using Sissix Lollipop dies.
Gonna try and make up for lost time this weekend and get some challenges done, so hope to be back soon.
