Arty Girlz Challenge - Handmade Background
Here's my entry for this week's Arty Girlz challenge, Handmade Backgrounds. I used the Cuttlebug Bubbles embossing folder as my background paper. I went round the edges and then over the embossing with a pale blue ink pad and repeated with a dark blue ink pad. The image, Bathtime Dottie, is a download from Charmed Cards & Crafts drawn by the very talented Louise Brigden. I used Sakura glaze pens and Marvys to colour in the image and added stickles to the bubbles! I embossed the bath and towel with other Cuttlebug embossing folders.

Funky Fairy Challenge - Show Us Your Drawers!
Here is my entry for this week's Funky Fairy Challenge, Show Us Your Drawers!! I downloaded the blue and purple collections of free papers from Funky Fairy's blog. There are stacks to choose from, I was spoilt for choice, so will be back soon for some more!
I have decided to use my drawers to store unfinished objects(beading projects) as I have quite a few of those. I go to a beading group in Colbury called UFO Beaders once a month, and I invariably come back with several projects on the go! We are given a project to complete if we want to, which I usually attempt, but often get distracted by pieces other beaders are making! At the moment my UFOs are all stored in one box with half used tubes of beads etc, and these inevitably get tangled up! My plan is to make several more of these drawers to store all my UFO separately.

Jilli's 40th Birthday
Happy Birthday Jilli !!
I came across Jilli's blog earlier today, and was really inspired by the fantastic work shown there. Here is the card I have made for the 'Fresh & Fun' challenge. I love working with Dolly Mamas stamps. I coloured the image in using Sakura Jelly Roll pens and used glossy accents on the hair and bag. The wording on the bag is not very clear, but it reads 'Put your big girls panties on and deal with it!'

Papertake Weekly Challenge, All That Glitters, Treasure Box
I stamped 6 images onto cream pearlescent card (I used 2 different shades and alternated them, although this does not show clearly in the photo). I cut the images out and glittered the flowers and butterflies using Art Institute Glitter. I painted the stripes and edges on the top of the box using Twinklin H2Os. When the images had dried I stuck them together to form the box. This box can be made using 4 or 5 sections.
Funky Fairy Challenge - Stars and Stripes
Here is my card for this week's challenge. Using pearlescent card, I made the base card. I cut out half a star shape on the front half of the card and folded the front of the card back on itself. I cut out a red star and then another slightly smaller star in white, which I punched small stars in, using a Fiskars hand punch. I embossed a piece of dark blue card using the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folder which I then stuck to the back piece of the card.

Tidy Craft Room!!
I have rediscovered the work surface in my craft room!! We have recently changed the units, so I had to clear all the surfaces and empty the cupboards..... I never realised I had soooo much stuff! Thought I would take the opportunity to paint the walls, (rather than have to do it another time) so now I have a nice clean and tidy craft room... how long for I wonder? Even the children commented on how tidy it looked and that they had forgotten what colour the work top was - shame they aren't so conscientious in their bedrooms!! My excuse is that you can't be creative and tidy! I thought I would take a couple of pictures to remember how tidy it could be, as I am sure it won't stay like this for long....

Dottie Challenge
Here is my entry for the Dottie Challenge on Charmed Cards & Crafts. I really enjoyed making this card, despite the problems I had with my printer, getting the image! I was in a pink and purple mood today, I usually work with autumnal tones, it must be the lovely weather we are having at the moment!
Diamond Wedding Medallion
I stamped and embossed images using the Cathedral Lights medallion from Creative Expressions onto white and gold pearlescent card and vellum. I glittered the layers with gold and silver and assembled the layers using 3d foam pads. I mounted the medallion onto silver and gold card and finally onto a white pearlescent card. I added peel off greetings to finish the card. I made a box approx 1.5cm deep to contain the card, punched ribbon slots in the bottom piece, threaded ribbon through which then ties up on the top when the lid has been put on.
