Spring is in the air

The glorious weather this afternoon inspired me to make this card.

I treated myself to some new stamps recently and this is one of them, I have admired them on other people's blogs but would prefer to stamp rather than using a digi download. Coloured with copics, just treated myself to some copic sketch markers, so you will see a lot of auburn haired characters on my cards for a while, just humour me!!!
I am supposed to be on a stash diet, but a girl has got to have new stamps from time to time, a few new punches and more copics, the only thing I haven't bought recently is papers, I have my very own paper mountain and I am determined to make inroads into it before buying any more.... watch this space!

I am entering this into 3 challenges
Get Sketchy - sketch
Dutch Dare - Summer in Winter
ABC - N - New, stamps and border punch

Monochrome motorbike

I needed to make a card for a nephew's 14th birthday today. I often struggle with making cards for males of this age group unless they are into football, so had to get my thinking cap on..... I had a flick through the challenges about this week and this is what I came up with

I used the sketch from Get Sketchy, although I'm not sure if I'm in time for this one, the Papertake Weekly challenge is a colour combo this week of black, white and one other, my one other being silver, and the challenge at Creative Inspirations is to use numbers and/or letters on your card.
Quite a plain card in comparison to my normal makes but it doesn't seem right putting flowers, ribbons or gems on a card for a male....
Not totally happy with this one but better get it in the post as it needs to be in Germany be early next week :-s

Get Sketchy - week 3

Here's my card for Get Sketchy's challenge this week. I thought it was about time I inked up some of the images from my Magnolia fall kit which was on the doormat when we arrived home from our hols last Friday. They are such gorgeous stamps, I spent most of yesterday evening colouring the different images, hence no completed cards made....

I stamped the image in Memento Rich Cocoa and coloured with distress inks, I know I always seem to use the Shabby Shutters and Spiced Marmalade colours, I really do need to buy some more, gonna have a lot online tonight - any suggestions for must have colours? Thinking I need Faded Jeans, Fired Brick, Milled Lavender.

I dug deep into my paper stash and used some Basic Grey papers, a scrap which I ran through a CB embossing folder and distressed the edges and embossing.
Hope you like.....
Am off to make another card now, hopefully in time for Just Magnolia challenge - fingers crossed!
