Busy weekend - 2 birthdays and 3 teenagers!!

Where did the last week go? Thank goodness it is half term this week, really need a break from work and some time to chill with some me time and some crafting!! Before that though I had 2 birthdays to arrange, my youngest son was 13 today and my daughter was 18 on Saturday, so things a bit hectic round here and I now have to live with 3 teenagers - HELP!!

My son is an avid footie fan, he supports Man Utd, so making cards for him is never a problem, just so long as it has a football theme. I was wracking my brains as to what sort of card to make him when I saw a demo for glitter board on Ideal World over the weekend, which reminded me I had some football glitter card somewhere in my craft room! I managed to unearth this and the pictures above and below show what I came up with.

I have been meaning to make a star card for a while now, so thought I would make one for Elle's 18th. The photos uploaded in a reverse order so they are working from back to front of the card. The picture below shows the card when it is opened up, I have used 5 sections, as I was short of time but have lots of ideas buzzing round in my head for the next one I make - gonna try a 7 piece one.

I stamped the coloured inner cards and back and front covers with a versamark pad and a flower stamp from Banana Frog to give a watermark effect. The congrats was cut using Beyond Birthdays cricut cartridge.

The images on these pages were stamped with Hanna Stamps and coloured with anything pink medium I could lay my hands on!

The heart on this page was cut with George & Basic Shapes cartridge, Happy Birthday sentiment cut with Beyond Birthdays cartridge. Elle and 18 from Making Memories glitter stickers and brad from Papermania. Ribbon tags added between the fourth and fifth page.

These pages were watermark stamped with the flower bloom and left blank to add photos of Elle on the day she was born and one of her 18th birthday.

Stars from stash added to one page and greeting (found on internet, sorry can't remember website) and printed onto vellum. Attached to card using Papermania brads.

The images on this page were Hero Arts Cup cakes stamps, which were coloured with a variety of mediums.

The circle and numbers on front page cut using George & Basic Shapes cartridge. The 18 was cut on a double sided adhesive to which I added pink glitter.

The boys are off to Gunwharf tomorrow to the pictures, so hoping to get some quiet time and the house back straight - ha ha!!

WOW Sam what great makes, these really are gorgeous. I have never actually made a star book myself. I must google to find some instructions {or should I say idiot guide} as they look fun to make.

Hi Sam,
Yeah where does the time go - I seen to spend forever catching up.
Two gorgeous cards, the football one is inspired so different from the usual.
The star card is so beautifully done, it must have taken ages - but well worthwhile.
