Friday Sketchers challenge

Managed to get a bit of craft time in last night! Here is my take on the sketch challenge over at Friday Sketchers this week. Just been to Hobbycraft and bought some cats eyes ink pads and so am off to play after dinner........ Really need to organise my craft room, its sooo messy at the moment, I am lucky to see any of my cutting mat. Nearly chopped some ribbons by mistake earlier!! Hoping to pick up some storage solutions at Ikea tomorrow, any ideas greatly received. See ya later.

Long time no blogging......

I don't know where the time goes to at the moment, the last few weeks have flown by and I haven't managed to fit in much crafting or blogging! I am on holiday now until 3rd September, although I do have to go in and catch up with a few things while its nice and quiet....

I went to Newbury on Saturday with a friend who is an avid scrapbooker, to the Art Stamp and Papercraft Fair. We always have a great day and return footsore, lighter in the purse although heavier in the craft bag! Here is a picture of the stuff I bought, I had planned to put the credit card into meltdown, but forgot my PIN no :-s, am sure hubby put a jinx on me, still I have the website of the companies, so can visit them when I remember my no......

You can't see the stamps too clearly, but over the new fews days/weeks you should see some cards made with them!!

Here is a card I made last week using the PTW sketch challenge, but forgot to upload it until today :-( still I have realised that it is appropriate for the CCT challenge this week, which is 'Things that grow'. This is obviously a stamp to have as I notice quite a few people have used it for this challenge, it is good to see the different cards made with the same image.

Anniversary card

It was our 21st wedding anniversary last Friday - here is the card I made for Barry. Cardstock is from PaperMill, it's a really lovely thick textured card. Vellum from new Xmas range by Papermania, stuck to base card by brad, top left corner, and ribbon and double sided tape, just about visible across the diagonal cut. The hearts are like paper mache?! from Mic I think? Greeting and numbers cut using Cricut cartridges. We had a lovely meal, diet went out of the window, will just have to be extra good the rest of this week! Am off now to make a birthday card for BIL, so should be back later.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge, Card for a child

Here is my entry for the CCT challenge this week, which is to create a card for a child. I love this image, which was sent to me by Heidi. I can't wait til these stamps are available here. Image coloured with watercolour pencils. CS from Paper Mill, BP - DCWV stack, sentiment - Cuddly Buddly, blooms - Poppicrafts.
Looking forward to the new challenge in the morning!

Craft Goodies

Look what the postman delivered today..... a parcel of lovely goodies from Poppicrafts. I have only recently discovered this shop, but this is my second visit already! There was a sale on, with 15% off, so it would have been silly not to have stocked up! The only problem I have now is how to store all the ribbons, I bought a load last time and they slip and slide all over the place, so if anyone out there has discovered a solution to this problem I would love to hear from you. There is a really wide range of goodies available and really friendly service and fast delivery. I had a bag of assorted brads as a freebie, which I forgot to put in the photo, sorry Michelle.
This was another little purchase I had to make recently.... I have been dithering for some time now about buying a Crop-a-dile, as I already have the gadgets for eyelet setting but when I saw this on QVC it was just crying out to be bought! It was the TSV and I managed to get it for just over £27.... so you can understand why I just HAD to buy it, the cheapest I have seen it elsewhere is about £30 and thats without all the eyelets and gromlets. I used to get told off for eyelet setting late at night, you have probably gathered from most of my posts I am a late night crafter, so now I can set eyelets etc at anytime of the day or night and not upset anyone!!

Thank You and Well Done cards

I have been asked to make some Thank You and Well Done cards recently. They had to be pink and girly...... After much deliberation, this is what I have come up with. My Rubber Romance stamps came in very handy once again. Most of the papers are from DCWV stacks, paper flowers from Poppicrafts, glittery ones from Craftime, ribbons from stash. Thank you wording was added with Cricut cartridge, Cuddly Buddly stamp or peel offs. I struggled with the Well Done wording, none of my Cricut cartridges have the phrase, hence I had to cut individual letters on the smallest size (1"). I hand wrote the sentiment on the card in the bottom right hand corner, but its not too clear in the picture. I printed out a sheet of Well Done, in different fonts, but wasn't happy with the colour and when I went back to the PC, my youngest son was doing his homework so didn't like to disturb him.

Papertake Weekly - Sketch challenge

This is the card I have made for the PTW sketch challenge this week. The image is a Rubber Romance image. BP is from Dovecraft , Glamour prints pack, mounted on pearlescent card. The strip across the middle of the card was embossed using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, which was then sanded with very find sandpaper to take the top off of the dots, not too clear in the picture - sorry :-( best I could do at this time of night!
Hope to a bit more crafting time this week - watch this space!

MTTC challenge

I can't believe it's a whole week since I last posted!! Where does the time go? Busy week again, still only another week and a half and then its the holidays - yippee ......... 6 weeks off!!!!!!!
Here is my entry for this weeks challenge over at My Time to Craft, which is to use numbers. I just love this image from the Little Rascals range at Creative Expressions, which I coloured with twinkling H2Os. I chalked the background of the base card, not very clear here but quite effective IRL. The No 4 is cut using the Lollipop number dies from Sizzix and coloured using H2Os. The fibres are some I found lurking, a leftover from one of those eyelash scarves I knitted a couple of years back.

2 in 1 challenge

Hey, 2 posts in one day, can't be bad! I have soooo many challenges to catch up on, I am combining them where possible.
At SBS18, 'This weeks challenge is to come up with a card, page or atc that is nice and summery.I'm thinking, beach, summer sun and all things sea-sidey!!!'
and
at Cute Card Thursday 'The challenge this week is to make a card with an outdoors theme '
The card above, which is in complete contrast to my last posting, should qualify for both of these challenges.
The image is a Rubber Romance image I received from Jilli in a PIF, I still need to PIF, which I will do once I get my act together! CS from The Paper Mill, one piece put through Swiss Dots embossing folder. BP from stash.
Not sure whether to make another card now or tidy up?

4 challenges in one!

At last the drought is over...... this is the first card I have made for over a week!! Its such a grotty day, so have decided to lift my spirits by shutting myself in my craft room to create! Here is what I have come up with - a 4 in 1 challenge. It meets the challenges set on My Time To Craft which is 'Seasons', uses the sketch set on Friday Sketchers, loved using this layout, will defo use it again, the Stamp Something challenge which is to use something that sparkles, shines, glimmers or glitters and finally the DCM challenge to create something that reminds you of winter or makes you feel cold, phew......
Disaster nearly struck when I stuck the stamped image directly onto the green paper, stood back to admire my work and then realised I had forgotten the gold mount :-O, I just about managed to prise the image off with minimal damage, thank goodness the mount was that bit larger!
I enjoyed making this card, my first Christmas card of the year, somehow it doesn't seem right making Xmas cards when the sun is shining, so I was OK today, as it felt more like the middle of winter, with tumble dryer on in the background, wind howling outside, only thing missing was the heating being on, but even I resisted the urge to press that switch!
The image and green bp are from the DoCrafts goody bag for July/August, which I treated myself to yesterday while at a demo.
Am off for dinner now, back later hopefully, with some more cards....
