Adam's birthday card and the inside of my CCC DT card

Been catching up with some cardage today.... decorated the inside of quite a few cards. I am planning an open day at home soon to sell some of my cards, jewellery and Mum's patchwork, so really need to get a shift on the finish off all my UFOs (unfinished objects).

As promised in my earlier post is the card I made for my youngest son's birthday. I've been meaning to make one of these cards for ages but never seem to get round to completeing them.... some more UFOs!

As he is a footy fan I usually end up making him a football card but decided to buck the trend this year with this Manga boy image from Funky Kits and papers from Dovecraft. Image coloured with copics, stars cut from SU flower punch, trimmed off the curved edges and put through swiss dots CB embossing folder, really pleased with them now, they looked kinda flat before I embossed them.

Here is the inside of the Creative Card Crew DT card for this week, which I had hoped to finish for my posting earlier today....
Finished off with Basic Grey Wassail papers and snowflakes as before.

Need to go and tidy my workspace now, hope to get round to taking a photo for WOYWW??
Am off to a quilting shop with one of my crafting buddies who has also been bitten by the patchwork bug recently. Can feel a little spend coming on :-)

Catch up tomorrow....

Snowflakes on your card - Creative Card Crew

The challenge this week at Creative Card Crew is to use snowflakes on your card.
We are sponsored this week by Simon Says Stamp, there is a £20 gift certicate for one lucky crafter out there, so come on, lets see your snowflake cards....

I used the cheeky Charlie with snowballs image from Whiff of Joy for my card and Basic Grey Wassail papers. I coloured the image with copics, just loving these babies, need to get some sketch markers now ;-) The snowflakes are made with MS and Punch Bunch punches. You can just about see some snowflakes on one of the backing papers too. Loving these challenges, I have never had so many Christmas cards made so early....

I meant to decorate the inside of the card before I posted it but spend a couple of hours making my son's birthday card which we needed for today.... I will post a picture later.

Looking forward to seeing your snowflake cards.

AWOL

Sorry I've not been about much lately, been feeling a bit under the weather and things have been pretty busy here so I've not managed to fit in much crafting, when I've had the time I've not had the inclination, was beginning to think my mojo had gone walkabouts....

We've lots of birthdays at this time of year in our family, it was my daughter's birthday yesterday, here is the card I made for her.

This Miss Anya shopping image reminded me of Ellie the other day when she had been shopping so just had to use it on her card. I chose the colour scheme as it is a favourite of hers. The papers are from DCWV All Dressed Up stack, image coloured with copics.

I've got a DT card coming up tomorrow along with another birthday card.
I'm on half term holiday this week so hope to spend a bit more time making cards, catching up on your blogs, taking part in challenges and playing with my new sewing machine....

Robbie Walking......Card for a boy

The challenge this week at Creative Card Crew is to make a card for a child or baby.... I opted to make a card for a boy, when I came across a certain stamp in my stash.

This cute image of 'Robbie Walking' is from Cuddly Buddly, coloured with copics. The papers are a HOTP pad I bought recently, I just love the vivid colours. The stars are cut from a flower punch (SU! punch) and run through an embossing folder, then inked on the embossing and round the edges.

There is a fabby prize up for grabs again this week, go on over to Creative Card Crew to see what it is and the rest of the DT's take on this challenge.

I am going to enter this card into the Create 4 Fun and Charisma Cards challenges this week.

Last week at PfP

It's my last week as a guest designer at Passion for Promarkers awww....
The challenge this week is to use Poppy & Forest Green. Mmmm this shouted out Christmas to me, another opportunity to increase my stock of Christmas cards. I started colouring a Edwin & Tilda skating but it just wasn't happening so went for plan b - Miss Anya and my stash of DCWV papers - couple several Xmas stacks to chose from!

I embossed a strip of gold pearlescent card with the CB embossing folder, added a couple of snowflakes using my MS punch, sentiment and shapes punches from SU! and finally a bit of ribbon from stash. Another card sorted.

Creative Card Crew - Sharon's Scallop challenge

It's Sharon's turn to set the challenge at Creative Card Crew this week which is to include scallops on your cards.
Crafty Addicts are sponsoring the challenge this week, there's a fabby prize up for grabs, so get those cards coming.....

I coloured the Miss Anya image with copics chosing colours that went with the papers from DCWV Nanna's Nursery Baby Girl paper stack, which has been on my desk for a while as I need to make a card for a baby girl. I used the sketch from Truly Scrumptious and the card was nearly finished when I realised that I hadn't included any scallops..... so I added some lace, rik rak ribbon and the sentiment is matted onto a scalloped oval. There is a little heart charm dangling from the sentiment but its not too clear in the photo, sorry photography skills severely lacking!

Passion for Promarkers - 3rd week as Guest Designer

It's my third week as a guest design at Passion for Promarkers and what a great challenge it is..... It's Gina's turn to set the challenge and she has decided on a sketch challenge, go and check out the PfP blog to see the sketch and other DT members wonderful cards. The sponsor this week is Secret Crafter who are offering 6 Promarkers as the prize for the lucky winner this week.

I coloured Miss Anya with my Promarkers, can't remember which colours tho, sorry they got mixed up on my desk.... The pink sparkly paper and plain purple is from my stash, the purple patterned is from a DCWV stack. The sentiment and punches are from SU!

I'm looking forward to seeing your creations.....

Where did the weekend go?

I may have been missing this weekend but I have been busy.... got a couple of DT cards coming up tomorrow but here's a card I managed to fit in before I went to work this morning.... yes I was up at 5.45am today! My eldest son is doing his work experience at an Army camp in Folkestone, a 3.5hr journey from here, on a good day, thank goodness its residential! Didn't think it was worth going back to bed when he'd gone, its bad enough having to get up once a day never mind twice!! So I turned the heating on and shut myself in my craft room.

I thought I would make a man's card using the sketch from Papertake Weekly. The image is a Whimsy, coloured with copics and the papers are from the Basic Grey Archaic range, quite appropriate for the image I thought...
I am also entering this for the Stamp Something challenge this week which is to use brown on your card.

I even managed to decorate the inside of the card and all before 7.30am! Am off to cook dinner now, hope to be back later but have got a bedroom to fumigate, oops I mean decorate, this week while DS1 is out of the way.

Peace and quiet at last....

Day off today, got the house to myself, the sun is shining, could it get any better?
Thought I would start off with a card - before I tackle the chores:-(

This card is for 2 challenges, Just Magnolia which is to use handmade flowers (I really must buy the larger retro flower punch....) and Basic Grey which is a sketch that is great to work with - I even decorated the inside of the card!
I coloured the images with Distress Inks, and layered the Tilda using silicon glue just to ensure I got the correct positioning, I wanted to cover the strawberries at the top of the box.
I used some of Chocolate Box card, scrunched it up and used a sanding block to reveal the pink core, not tried this before, quite pleased with how it turned out although most of it is hidden under the upper layers!
Punches are from SU! except the lil' retro flower which is an X-Cut one.

I feel a few more challenges coming on but ought to put my washing out now and get some coffee and toast... have a great day whatever you are doing, hope to be back later.

Tilda in Red & Green

Still trying to catch up with challenges and blogging, here's a card I made yesterday but didn't manage to post.

I am entering this into ABC challenge which is 'Embossing' and Simon Says Stamp which is to use Red and Green.

I used my copics to colour this image which I received ages ago from my blogging buddy Heather. The papers are from a Papermania pack from last year that I never got round to using, don't know why as they are really lovely papers. I embossed some gold pearlescent card using CB d'vine swirls folder and added a few vellum snowflakes punched with an MS punch decorated with some gold stickles.

Better go and tidy my craft room now, can't see the worktop....

2nd week at Passion for Promarkers

Its my second week as a guest design at Passion for Promarkers and what fun I'm having with these challenges....

I'll be back with more info soon, gotta dash to get ready for work.

Go on over the check out the work by the other DT members and join in the fun this week.

Creative Card Crew - Celebration card

The challenge at Creative Card Crew this week is to make a celebration card. I was running a bit short on time so it had to be a quick card.
I background stamped and heat embossed some gold pearlescent card with some gold embossing powder. I stamped the main image on red, green and gold pearlesent card and cut out various elements which I then layered up and added to my card with a piece of gold ribbon from my stash.
Ooops nearly forgot the image in the middle of the ornament. I stamped and heat embbossed this onto some vellum and coloured and dry embossed the image from the back.

Why not join in the fun this week - go and see the fabby prize up for grabs this week!

Monochrome motorbike

I needed to make a card for a nephew's 14th birthday today. I often struggle with making cards for males of this age group unless they are into football, so had to get my thinking cap on..... I had a flick through the challenges about this week and this is what I came up with

I used the sketch from Get Sketchy, although I'm not sure if I'm in time for this one, the Papertake Weekly challenge is a colour combo this week of black, white and one other, my one other being silver, and the challenge at Creative Inspirations is to use numbers and/or letters on your card.
Quite a plain card in comparison to my normal makes but it doesn't seem right putting flowers, ribbons or gems on a card for a male....
Not totally happy with this one but better get it in the post as it needs to be in Germany be early next week :-s
